CLEP

CLEP (College-Level Examination Program) Exams are ninety-minutes, available in five general areas and twenty-nine subject areas, for students interested in earning college credit for material they already know. North Georgia does not grant credit for every examination CLEP offers. Please click the link below to view the list of courses for which North Georgia will grant credit by CLEP examination.

Cost and Registration

There is a $20.00 service fee per test payable to North Georgia (cash, check, Visa, MC) upon check-in with the Testing Office on your scheduled test date and a $77.00 per test fee payable to CLEP by check or credit card only (Visa, MC, Discover) during the log-in process at the computer testing station.  

Candidates must show TWO forms of identification in order to test; primary and secondary.  Your primary ID must be government-issued and include your name, signature, and a recognizable photograph.  Acceptable forms of primary ID include:

• Current driver's license
• State or federal ID card
• Current passport
• Military ID with photo and signature
• Tribal ID
• Naturalization card or certificate of citizenship

Acceptable forms of secondary ID include:

• Employee photo ID
• College ID
• Credit card
• Social Security card
• Military ID with signature only
• Unused ID from the primary choices above

NOTE FOR ELIGIBLE MILITARY PERSONNEL AND ELIGIBLE CIVILIAN EMPLOYEES: While North Georgia's service fees are the tester's responsibility, CLEP test fees are funded by the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES). Military personnel and government-funded civilians MUST present a current military identification card and a second form of government-issued photo ID with signature.

 College Board Retest Policy
Candidates may not repeat a CLEP exam of the same title within six months. Scores of exams repeated earlier than six months will be canceled and test fees forfeited.

  CLEP Test Dates and Times
Each date has different starting times with five seats available per starting time. Once those five seats are taken, that time slot will no longer be available.  If a date/time shown here cannot be seen during the registration process, that particular date and/or time is full and another date/time will need to be selected.
