Master of Education in Middle Grades Math and Science - Online Program
Important NoticeProspective Students: Admission into the program for North Georgia is open.
Program Information
The University of North Georgia offers a fully online M.Ed. in Middle Grades Math and Science for in-service teachers wishing the opportunity to add areas of concentration to their teaching certificates in highly sought-after teaching fields. Admission is through UNG Graduate Studies. Top graduate faculty from UNG and Valdosta State University teach the courses. Successful completion of this program results in the addition of a new teaching field for teachers who do not already hold certification in Middle Grades Math or Middle Grades Science. This 12-course program can be completed in four consecutive semesters - about 16 months - with a full-time enrollment. Courses are offered on a continuous basis allowing for part-time enrollment. All course-work, including exams, is done online. No campus visits are required to complete the program.
The program is fully online with no on-campus attendance requirements. Students must have access to a middle grades classroom (grades 4 - 8) Math or Science to complete coursework. If not, please contact your advisor upon acceptance into program. Students conduct all work online, including team projects, exams, discussion posts, and case studies. Students have access to online academic resources such as those available through UNG's Library Technology Center. Courses are asynchronous, so there are no scheduled online class meetings except those you might make with peers for group work.
Technology: Students must have high speed internet access. Courses are delivered via Desire to Learn course management system. In addition, all students are required to purchase the LiveText assessment program. Additional software may be required.Admissions
