  • Appalachian Nurse Practitioner Clinic
    
    The North Georgia Department of Nursing collaborates with District 2 Public Health, County Public Health Departments in Lumpkin, Dawson, Hall, White, Fannin, Gilmer, and Union counties, non-profit healthcare providers, hospital emergency care providers, and regional healthcare providers to provide health services for underserved (uninsured and low income) residents of Lumpkin, Dawson, Hall, White, Fannin, Gilmer, and Union counties while integrating student clinical experience and faculty practice.   • Appalachian Teaching Project
    
    The North Georgia Department of Psychology and Sociology collaborates with Dahlonega Downtown Development Authority, Dahlonega City Council, Chamber of Commerce, and the Convention and Visitors Bureau to engage and teach students and communities about the work of the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), its state and local partners, and the goals of the Commission's strategic plan.   • Art Exhibitions, Performances, and Other Events
    
    The North Georgia Departments of Visual Arts and Performing Arts, SPECTRUM student art club, Corps of Cadets Golden Eagle Band, the National Art Education Association North Georgia Student Chapter, the Department of Psychology and Sociology, Georgia Appalachian Studies Center, NGCSU Chapter of the Collegiate Division of Music Educators National Conference, Nix Living Heritage Series, and the NGCSU Cultural Arts Committee collaborate with Georgia public school faculty, regional artists and art benefactors, local residents, the Holly community Theatre, the Visual Arts Advisory Council, the Dahlonega Arts Council, the Downtown Development Authority of Dahlonega, the Forsyth County Arts Alliance, the Collections of the Southern Highlands Craft Guild, and the Appalachian Studies Association Conference to provide venues for music and theater events and for exhibiting work by students, faculty, and regional and national artists.     The North Georgia Department of Military Science collaborates with Camp Frank D. Merrill 5th Ranger Training Battalion, US Army to enhance the military officer training of the Cadets and provide additional resources for the 5th Ranger Training Battalion. More >
  • Environmental Leadership Center
    
    The North Georgia Departments of Physics and Biology and the School of Science and Health Professions collaborate with US Forestry Service, Georgia Forestry Commission, Lumpkin Coalition, SavetheHemlocks.org, National Weather Service's Cooperative Observer Program (COOP), Len Foote Hike Inn, University of Georgia, Young Harris College, and Clemson University to serve as a focal point for the formation of partnerships with individuals and groups interested in environmental issues and environmental leadership.   • Foreign Language Day
    The North Georgia Department of Modern Languages and Career Services and Recruitment collaborate with North Georgia regional high school language departments, including Chestatee, Dawson County, Flowery Branch, Gainesville, Habersham Central, Johnson, Lumpkin County, North Hall, Tallulah Falls, Union County, and Winder-Barrow to promote the study of modern languages as well as to increase the knowledge and appreciation of the diverse cultures of countries whose languages the students are learning, including Chinese, French, German, and Spanish.     The North Georgia Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice and Public Services/Continuing Education collaborate with Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office to provide a reliable and cutting edge venue for training in the forensics industry and to educate law enforcement personnel and other specialists in forensics topics.   • Georgia Appalachian Center for Higher Education (GACHE)
    The North Georgia School of Education collaborates with high schools and their community partners in Banks, Dade, Fannin, Gilmer, Jackson, Madison, Stephens, and White Counties, and in Cedartown, Commerce, Gordon Lee, Johnson, LaFayette, North Murray, Ridgeland, Sonoraville, Winder-Barrow, and Woody Gap to be the leader in providing resources to schools to increase the number of students continuing their education beyond high school.   • Georgia Appalachian Studies Center (GASC)
    The North Georgia School of Education, Department of Biology, Department of Visual Arts, Department of History, and Department of Performing Arts collaborate with various community partners, including local, state, regional, and national organizations to educate students and the community about southern Appalachian culture through art, history, music, and nature.   • Hippotherapy Camp
    The North Georgia Department of Physical Therapy, Gold Dust Riders club, undergraduate students in nursing, biology, exercise science, and psychology, and student members of the Rho Tau honor society collaborate with HEART Therapeutic Riding Center and three Physical Therapists from the community to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities through the provision of physical therapy using the movement of the horse as a therapy tool.   • NGCSU Internship Program
    North Georgia faculty from the Mike Cottrell School of Business, the School of Arts and Letters, the School of Education, the School of Science & Health Professions, the Center for the Future of North Georgia, and Career Services collaborate with Chamber of Commerce entities, various businesses, non-profits, and government agencies primarily in North Georgia and throughout the state to provide them with educated and enthusiastic human capital (students), while providing students with professional-level experience and insight into the fields which they wish to pursue.   • Lumpkin County High School Army Junior ROTC Program/Lumpkin County Middle School Leadership Initiative Program
    The North Georgia Department of Military Science collaborates with Lumpkin County High School and Lumpkin County Middle School to teach students in the program to become leaders, taking responsibility and standing up to meet the high expectations of a JROTC Corps. More >
  • Lumpkin County River Rendezvous
    The North Georgia Department of Biology collaborates with Georgia Adopt-A-Stream to monitor Lumpkin County water quality, establish a baseline record for comparison with long-term data, and educate the community on the importance of local water quality and its assessment. More >  
  • Non-Profit and Small Business Leadership Workshop Program
    The North Georgia Mike Cottrell School of Business collaborates with Chambers of Commerce, including Cumming/Forsyth County, Dahlonega/Lumpkin County, and Hall County, the North Georgia Foundation, SBDC-Gainesville, and SBA-Atlanta to build partnerships in the North Georgia Region that create and maintain relationships with agencies, contributors, 501 (C) 3 non-profit organizations, and various businesses.     The North Georgia Information and Instructional Technology collaborates with Development Authorities of Lumpkin, Union, Dawson, White, and Forsyth Counties, Habersham EMC, Blue Ridge EMC, and Ellijay Telephone Company to create a new technology-based economy through an advanced broadband network, through a powerful 260-mile regional fiber optic ring traversing 12 counties.     North Georgia College & State University collaborates with District 2 Public Health Office and North Georgia Community Foundation to encourage, recognize, and reward new and existing collaborative rural health initiatives that reflect the importance of building and nurturing partnerships to improve the health and wellness of rural communities.   • Saving Appalachian Gardens and Stories (SAGAS)
    The Georgia Appalachian Studies Center, the North Georgia Departments of Biology and History, and the Continuing Education Center collaborate with Master Gardener Club and Southern Seed Legacy to promote cultural and environmental education through seed and story preservation.More >
  • Summer Food Drive for Community Helping Place
    Each year, CHP’s Summer Food Program provides breakfast, lunch and a snack to hundreds of Lumpkin County's at-risk children during the summer, when school meals are not available. An integral part of the mission of North Georgia College & State University is to serve its community. This project, part of the university's Greek Week, also celebrates and recognizes all of the campus groups who participate in the university's service role in the region. More >
