New minor in Appalachian Studies

North Georgia is the first university in the state to offer this minor. This multidisciplinary program provides students with an understanding of the culture, economy, history, natural resources, and politics of the Appalachian region and how these concepts impact and influence Appalachian communities and their residents.  Read "History in the Making" by Carol Meeks here.

Carol Meeks I have never had the chance to experience history in the making, or at least what I knew would be an historic moment.  January 31, 2012 is a day that I will never forget and was so glad I was able to
experience.
