A unit of Academic Affairs
Need Help? Just ASK! The Academic Skills Center provides academic support in the form of programming and courses designed to help students academically as much as possible. This new program combines the faculty of Learning Support Services and Freshman Experience as well as the Tutoring Services program so these offices, known for excellence in their service to students, may be housed under one title, one roof--The Academic Skills Center!
Our mission is to ensure that North Georgia students succeed academically as much as possible by providing workshops geared toward their specific needs at specific times in the semester. In addition, we will provide the same high quality tutoring services that many students have accessed and found beneficial. The Academic Skills Center will NOT compete with the English Department's Writing Center, the Math Department's Math/CS Tutorial Center, or the Modern Language Department's Language Lab. We will supplement those programs when and where student need requires.
Our goal is to help students turn liabilities into assets, weaknesses into strengths, and doubts into confidence. We will assess our success by the academic results of our clients.
