  Apply Burst

Students are encouraged to apply for admission, and send in supporting documents as early as possible.  Due to course and/or housing availability, we cannot guarantee admission or former student reactivation for the term in which a student wishes to enroll.  Once university capacity for a term has been reached, we will no longer be able to accept students for that term.

Important Notices

The Spring 2012 semester classes have begun.  As a result, we have closed applications for Spring 2012.  We are accepting applications for semesters beginning with Summer 2012.

Students who wish to major in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Nursing or Teacher Education will need to submit a separate application to that  specific department by that department's deadline, after they have been accepted to North Georgia for the semester they will begin classes. Admission to the University does not guarantee admission to the program. Please note that students who are accepted to the University for a semester but do not attend, will have their acceptance canceled.

Updating to Another Semester

For each application submitted, a student is allowed one update to either the semester immediately preceding (as long as the student has not been denied admission for the initial term for which they applied) or following the term of application. Students wishing to update their application should contact the appropriate admissions office.

If a student wishes to move his or her application to a semester not immediately preceding or following the semester currently applied for, that student must submit another application for the desired semester and pay the application fee.

A student denied admission for a particular term may update or apply to be admitted to a future term only

Updating or applying to a future term does not guarantee admission to the University during that term.  Applications of students who update or apply to a future term are subject to the same scrutiny as all other applications.

Official Supporting Documents Are Required

Official transcripts and/or standardized test scores are required of most applicants. For documents to be considered "OFFICIAL," they must be submitted directly to the North Georgia Office of Undergraduate Admissions by the appropriate officials at your high school, testing authority, and/or college/university. Opened transcripts/test scores and photocopies are not considered "OFFICIAL." SAT and ACT scores recorded on "OFFICIAL" high school transcripts are accepted.

Applicants who have attended a foreign college or university must provide a course-by-course translation of the foreign transcripts prepared by a U.S. based credential evaluation agency, such as Josef Silny or WES. This translation must be submitted directly to the North Georgia Office of Undergraduate Admissions by the credential evaluation agency. A listing of recognized credential evaluation agencies is available in the Application Guide for International Students.

Applicants who request in-state tuition or out-of-state waivers must provide proof of U.S. lawful presence.

Please arrange to have all supporting materials sent directly to one of the following addresses:

Housing Deposit

All resident students admitted are required to pay a $250 Housing Deposit.  Once resident students enroll, the Housing Deposit will be returned in accordance with the housing contract.

Honor Code

North Georgia abides by a strict honor code in its classrooms and in its admissions practices. The code states, "I will not lie, cheat, steal, plagiarize, evade the truth or tolerate those who do." Violation of this code constitutes grounds for suspension or expulsion from the university. Any student withholding or falsifying information provided to North Georgia College & State University as part of the application process is subject to having her/his admission and/or registration cancelled.

Notice Regarding Online Courses

Recently enacted federal regulations requiring enforcement of state laws regarding the delivery of distance education degrees, programs and courses to students whose physical presence is in a state other than Georgia may limit North Georgia's ability to offer online opportunities to these students.  If you wish to enroll in one of our online offerings and are located in a state other than Georgia, please inquire before enrolling to determine if we have acquired permission to offer online courses in your state.  You may email your inquiry to onlineapproval@northgeorgia.edu.  (Please note that this email address is exclusively for questions regarding state approval of online offerings.  Other types of inquiries should be sent to the academic department offering the online courses.)
