President Jacobs

Dr. Bonita Jacobs is the 17th president of North Georgia College & State University. North Georgia College & State University is a leading and distinctive institution within in the University System of Georgia. With more than 6,000 students, the university educates and develops leaders through its four schools and its Corps of Cadets, which comprises about 15 percent of the student body.

A student affairs professional and professor of counseling and higher education, Jacobs brings a deep commitment to North Georgia’s student-focused college experience and its mission to develop and educate leaders through a strong liberal arts programs.

"The university has so many outstanding characteristics, including its senior military college status, that it’s no surprise it’s a state-designated leadership institution," she said. "I look forward to building on the university’s extraordinarily rich heritage."

Jacobs took office on July 1, 2011, and she will be formally installed as president in an inauguration ceremony in spring 2012.
