The rifle and the pistol competitions are open to all active, reserve, National Guard and ROTC units from Georgia and the surrounding areas. Also, Cadet Robert Hull took first place in the individual rifle competition.

The first-place rifle team consisted of Cadets Weston C. Lee, freshman from Bluffton, Ga.; Robert T. Hull, junior from St. Simons, Ga.; Casey Jemelka, senior from Dahlonega, Ga.; Jacob A. Freeman, senior from Suwanee, Ga.; and Coach/advisor SGM Timothy Foster.

The North Georgia team of Cadet Michael T. Glass, sophomore from Chickamauga, Ga.; SFC Timothy Bare; 1LT Steven Russell; and SGM Timothy Foster took second place in the rifle competition.

The first-place pistol team consisted of Cadets Erik H. Carlson, senior from Cumming, Ga.; Freeman; Jemelka; and Hull.

In the individual pistol competition, Rangers took first and second, though North Georgia cadets Carlson, Hull, Freeman and Jemelka took third through sixth places.

Hull and Jemelka won bronze Excellence in Competition badges in the rifle competition and Freeman and Hull won the Distinguished Pistol Badge. Both honors may be worn on dress uniforms for their entire military careers.

Combat Shooting Team advisors SGM Foster and SFC Bare would like to thank several alumni who donated money for ammunition, allowing the team more training time.

"I would like to thank all the supporters and the alumni for their support of the North Georgia shooting program," Foster said. "Without their support, this would not have been possible."
