Parents

Antonia for WebI guarantee that you will choke up with pride when your son or daughter graduates from the Corps of Cadets at North Georgia.  My son was in the Corps of Cadets, and my wife and I can personally attest to the tremendous value that the leadership development and education offered by the Corps of Cadets adds to their preparation for life after college.  I am Keith Antonia, the Director of Cadet Admissions.  I personally developed this web page for you.

"We are not looking for young men and women who need discipline, we're looking for disciplined young men and women who want to be leaders.  We're looking for the same character sought by West Point."  - Keith Antonia, Director of Cadet Admissions

Top Ten Reasons Why You Should Invest in Your Son's or Daughter's Education at North Georgia

  1. Value.  Your Cadet will live in a new Cadet residence hall, eat in a new dining facility, work out in a new fitness center, study in a new library/technology complex, and be a part of the top Army ROTC program in the nation.

  2. Leadership.  Your Cadet will learn a lot about leadership and will be placed in leadership positions of increasing responsibility as he or she progresses through the program. In fact, your Cadet will receive more than 700 hours of leadership development education over four years.
  3. Low Cost.  Compare our cost to any other senior military college.  Our costs are comparable to most of the least expensive four-year public universities.
  4. Guaranteed Job or Personalized Assistance With Career Exploration and Job Search After Graduation.  If your Cadet is qualified and eligible, he or she may commission as a  second lieutenant in the US Army, Army National Guard, or Army Reserve after graduation.  Starting salary is $54,000 per year + incredible benefits for regular Army officers.  If your Cadet is not qualified to commission or does not want to, we have a Career Services office on campus to assist him or her with resume building, interviewing, and finding a job.
  5. Leadership Minor.  By accomplishing a couple of simple steps, graduates of the Corps of Cadets can receive a leadership minor.  This will look good on a resume.
  6. Safety.  Our campus is incredibly safe and your Cadet will be safe.  We have a professional campus police force on duty 24/7.  Look at our crime statistics and compare to other universities.
  7. Graduation rate. We are in the top five public colleges and universities in the State of Georgia.  We have a Student Success Center, learning support programs, tutor program, early alert, academic advisors, and the staff of the military department all assisting our Cadets with academic success.
  8. Physical Fitness.  Your Cadet will participate in structured, group physical fitness training three days per week.  The benefits are too numerous and obvious to list here.
  9. No Drugs or Alcohol.  No drugs or alcohol are allowed on campus.
  10. Beautiful and Historic Area.  Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, home of the Mountain Phase of the US Army Ranger School, and site of the first major gold rush in the US, Dahlonega is a quaint town that draws many tourists and outdoors sports enthusiasts every year.  Visiting your son or daughter means visiting a popular tourist destination that was also named one of the top places to retire in America.
Honors Programs!  Does your son or daughter have excellent grades and SAT/ACT scores?  Does he or she participate in extra-curricular activities?  Look into the Honors Programs.
