If you take a course in Arabic, Chinese, Korean, you will be paid $250 per credit hour, or $200 per credit hour for Russian, in a lump sum at the end of the course. Most courses are three credit hours per semester. Therefore, you would get $600 - $750 for completing a one semester course in the language. To be eligible, you must sign a contract to commission as a lieutenant after you graduate college.
Green to Gold Scholarship (for regular Army enlisted soldiers only)
The Army offers excellent opportunities for enlisted Soldiers to become
officers while earning a degree at the same time. You can choose between a two
year option where you remain on active duty, or a three or four year option where
you can receive scholarships and stipends. Click here for more information on Green to Gold options, sample packets, frequently asked questions, and points of contact.
Leadership Scholarships
We have a few leadership scholarships available to high school students who will be Cadets at North Georgia. These scholarships range from $900 to $4,100 per year. The award amount depends on the scholarship awarded. The scholarships are funded by donors who set up scholarship programs for those who want to be Cadets. See the biographical information on our donors.
To apply for a leadership scholarship, first apply for admission as a Cadet and be accepted to the university. Then e-mail Keith Antonia (kantonia@northgeorgia.edu), Director of Cadet Admissions, a one-page essay discussing why you are qualified for a leadership scholarship. Be sure to include your leadership accomplishments during your high school years, your goals for college, and your goals for life after college.
Scholarship deadline is March 1st. A few selections will be made prior to the deadline, and most selections will be made before the first week in April. Generally, Georgia state residents who are Army ROTC scholarship or Georgia Military Scholarship recipients will be considered after those who were not awarded one of those scholarships.
