Green To Gold Program
The Army offers excellent opportunities for enlisted Soldiers to become officers while earning  their bachelors degrees. You can choose between a two year option where you remain on active duty while in college, or three and four year options where you can receive scholarships and stipends to attend college full time.

How to apply for the Green-to-Gold (GTG) Scholarship:

1.  The first step is to check if you are eligible to participate. Click HERE to view eligibility criteria.

2.  If you have already completed an associate or bachelors degree, or if you have 60 transferrable semester hours of college complete, then the two year option may be for you. Click HERE  if you have less than 60 hours of transferrable credit; the three or four year options are the ideal choice.

To determine whether your college coursework is transferrable, click here: http://www.northgeorgia.edu/transfercredit/.

3.  Once you have determined which Green to Gold option is best suited to you, apply for admission to North Georgia College & State University. You can apply at http://www.northgeorgia.edu/cadetapply/ and if you have any questions you can contact Chris Rodriguez-Smith at Cadet Admissions by calling 706 867-2924 or email chrisrs@northgeorgia.edu.

4.  Once you are accepted for admission, you will need a Letter of Acceptance from the Professor of Military Science at North Georgia.  This letter will indicate that you are accepted into the ROTC program at North Georgia. To obtain the letter, contact the Cadet Recruitment Center and speak with CPT Sayle, 706 864-1884 or   rpsayle@northgeorgia.edu, or LT Bips 706 864-1599 or mcbips@northgeorgia.edu.

5.  On your application for admission, declare a major. You will need to have an Academic Plan of Study (Cadet Command Form104-R) completed and signed by your academic adviser as part of your GTG Packet. Most of this will be done via email. You can find out who your academic adviser is by contacting North Georgia’s Registrar’s office. Contact your adviser as soon as possible to get your Plan of Study completed. Be sure to explain that your situation so they can accommodate you if you are applying from out of state and are currently on active duty.

6.  Follow the Green to Gold checklist in Appendix A of the Green to Gold Application and if you have any questions you can contact Gloria Pringle at Cadet Command (see contact info below) or Cadet Admissions at North Georgia.

7.  Once all of this is complete, you submit your packet to Cadet Command (see sample packet below for submission instructions). Packets are due as follows:
