Requirements for admission if you graduate from an accredited high school or home school, are under 23 years old, and did not attend college after high school:

  • Be at least 16 years old before the start of Cadet basic training (FROG Week).
  • Graduate from an accredited high school or home school, or a high school that is approved by the university.
  • Present credit for the following 16 (17 for students graduating in or after 2012) CPC (College-Preparatory Curriculum) units:

    English                           4 units (Grammar, Literature, Advanced Composition)

    Mathematics 4 units (Algebra I and II, Geometry, and an additional mathematics course that has these courses as prerequisites; note that Financial Algebra, Decision Making, Consumer Math and Business Math cannot be the additional mathematics course. 

    Students who graduate 2012 or later must have Mathematics I (Algebra/Geometry/Statistics), Mathematics II (Geometry/Algebra II/Statistics), Mathematics III (Advanced Algebra/Statistics) and Mathematics IV (Pre-Calculus-Trigonometry/Statistics).  Please note that Mathematics Support III is not considered one of North Georgia's four required high school mathematics courses.

    Science 3 units (at least one laboratory course from the life sciences and one laboratory course from the physical sciences. Students who graduate 2012 or later must have 4 units of science. Graduates are encouraged to have at least one unit of biology; one unit of physical science or physics; one unit of chemistry, earth systems, or environmental science)

    Social Science 3 units (must include a unit focusing on U.S. studies and a unit focusing on world studies)

    Foreign Language 2 units of the same foreign language (2 units of American Sign Language may also be used to satisfy this requirement)

  • Have completed the SAT I or the ACT.  Minimum SAT for regular admission are math 440 and critical reading 480. Minimum ACT for regular admission are math 18 and English 20.
  • Be a US citizen or a permanent resident alien. 

To apply for admission:

  • Complete the on-line Application for Undergraduate Admission and pay a $30 application fee (non-refundable).  NOTE!  Disregard the "Admissions Requirements" section of the instruction page:  do not click on any of the links in that section. Skip to the very bottom of the page and click the "Apply for Admission" tab. 
  • Have your high school send us your official high school transcript after completing the 11th grade (TRANSCRIPTS CAN NOT BE FAXED).  
  • Have your official SAT or ACT score report (scores noted on official high school transcripts are accepted) sent to us (SAT/ACT REPORTS CAN NOT BE FAXED).
  • Send us your document showing lawful presence in the United States.   Click here for a list of documents that can be used.  
  •  If you took college courses while in high school, have your official transcripts sent to us from that college.
