Study Abroad in Beijing, China
This study abroad program is intended to provide students with a better understanding of the dynamics of US-China relations. During the four weeks in Beijing, students will visit dozens of historical and cultural sites to enhance their classroom learning experience, as well as provide a better understanding of the tremendous changes in China.

Liaocheng University Study Abroad
This program is designed for mid-level to advanced-level Chinese language learners and will take place at partner school Liaocheng University in Liaocheng, China. The program will enhance students' Chinese language skills through 8 weeks of intensive language learning in an environment of total immersion.

Study Abroad in Normandy, France
University of Caen, France
Students have the opportunity to spend four weeks at the University of Caen in order to improve their competency in the French language. While in France the students will be lodging at the University of Caen and will have a meal plan. In addition to spending time in the classroom, students will also participate in field trips to Utah and Omaha Beaches, WWII Museum in Caen, and the American Cemetery.

Study Abroad in Nerja, Spain
Nerja, Spain
The program is focused on Spanish Language immersion that is conducted with the Escuela de Idiomas Nerja in Nerja, Spain. During the three week program students will receive intensive Spanish language instruction. Students will also be lodged in a homestay that is approved by Escuela de Idiomas. On the weekends students are encouraged to visit the areas surrounding Nerja, Spain, some of the key places are Alhambra in Granada and the Mezquita in Cordoba.

Study Abroad in Turkey
Discover where East meets West, culturally and physically. Wander through the capital of some of the greatest empires (Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman) the world has ever seen! The program will emphasize the legal and political developments and contributions of Turkey, while excursions will provide a broad cultural background for examining the past and future of the country.

London Experience
London, England
This program will expose North Georgia students to business practices and cultures other than their own. Students will observe international commerce an economic activities in a location of historical business significance.
Students will spend 9 days of Spring Break in London, England touring, learning, and gaining knowledge of a culture rich with global influences and the multinational evolution of British industry. This trip is offered as part of the BUSA 4528 International Business course requirement.

Gloucester Experience
Gloucester, England
Students have the opportunity to spend an entire month in the Spring or Fall semester in England. This experience will help students fulfill 50% their Spring EDUC 4404 or Fall EDUC 4001 fieldwork requirement hours. Students will be provided with the opportunity to learn about the British educational system, while working in elementary classrooms. During this time they will be exposed to the philosophy of Every Child Matters and be able to compare it to No Child Left Behind.

Poland Experience
Krakow, Poland
A four-week program for undergraduate students which will allow them to become familiar with the Polish school system, as well as broaden their educational and cultural perspective. The experience will partially fulfill the EDUC 4001 requirement. Students will stay with a Polish host family and will attend full day school hours which are approximately six hours per day. In addition to course work, students will have a chance to visit Auschwitz, Polish salt miles, and a variety of other historical sites.

Nicaragua Experience
Chinandega, Nicaragua
Students will complete a two-week field placement in a village located within the city limits of Chinandega, Nicaragua. During this placement students will tutor, lead small groups, and teach lessons in an environment where there are large class sizes and minimal resources. Students will stay at the Villa Catalina and the Amigos Casa and will attend field trips to a special needs school, Masaya, and the local city markets. Application deadline is February 17th.

Gloucester MAT Spring Experience
Gloucester, England
Graduate students in the Education Department have the opportunity to complete part of their internship in the United Kingdom. The students will observe 15 days in an assigned school/classroom. While there they will learn more about the British educational system and how it compares to the U.S. education system. They will be exposed to the philosophy of Every Child Matters and Youth Matters in the British educational system and be able to compare it to No Child Left Behind.

Gloucester Summer Exchange
Gloucester, England
Students will spend three to four weeks in Gloucester, England. While there half of the program at a designated elementary school and the other half at Milestone School (a special needs school). While the students are studying in England they will work with teachers in the classroom with individual students or small groups. They will also have the option to participate in field trips or staff development opportunities.

MAT China Summer Study Abroad
Beijing, China & Xi'an China
Graduate students enrolled in the Education Department have the opportunity to participate in the China Field Experience Program. This program allows the student to learn more about the Chinese educational system and how it compares to the educational system in the United States. The student will observe and teach for 15 days in an assigned middle or secondary classroom at Shaanxi Normal University Olympic Garden School.

Poland Exchange
Krakow, Poland
Graduate students have the opportunity to travel to Krakow, Poland for three weeks to become familiar with the Polish educational system. Once in Krakow students will visit a series of Polish middle and elementary schools, while at the schools the graduate student is required to compare and contrast the educational system in the US with the Polish System. The student will be placed in a select school where they will be teaching English to students. In addition to having experiences within a school, they will meet with local and political figures regarding the system of education in Poland.

Culture Immersion--A Healthcare Experience
Dominican Republic
A 10-day summer trip will allow nursing students to experience what it is like to be a health care official in a third-world country. Students will stay in a local hotel as a group and will visit local villages to provide medical and health care. The course offered is NURS 3250/NURS 5250.

Summer Programs
German Plus! - Paderborn, Germany
German Plus! is a German language intensive program for North Georgia students who are interested in completing a German minor. The program takes place in Paderborn, Germany and students will attend classes at the University of Paderborn. Students live with a host family where they will have the opportunity to apply the language skills learned in the classroom to everyday life situations.
Sogang International Summer School
Located in Seoul, South Korea, the Sogang Summer Program offers a wide variety of classes to choose from. For this program, Korean language proficiency is not needed and many students go with no prior knowledge of Korean. There are a wide variety of majors to choose from and many courses are taught in English. Participants will live in the International dorm.
European Council Programs
Students will spend four to five weeks in one of these countries: Ireland, Germany, France, Russia, England, or Spain. In these programs, students blend classroom experiences with group and individual travel as they earn academic credit at their home institutions. These programs offer core classes such as history, economics, foreign languages, music, art, and other related courses.
Americas Council Program
This is a four- week program that takes place in La Serena, Chile. Students will take Spanish language courses combined with Chilean culture and current social and political issues. This program offers courses in spanish, history, political science, and criminal justice. Students will stay in apartment-style housing with a roommate while attending classes at the University.
Asia Council Program
This is a four-week program that takes place in Zhengzhou, China. Students will stay in hotels and international dormitories. The program offers courses in general studies including: accounting, business, communication finance, history, political science, psychology, and other related subjects.
Arabic Language and Culture in Morocco
Immerse yourself in the study of modern standard Arabic and experience firsthand the various aspects of Moroccan life and culture. The program will be offered in conjunction with faculty from Hassan II University in Casablanca; who will provide guest lectures and also excursions to Marrakech, Fes, Meknes and Rabat. Students will stay with host families of Hassan II students from the American Studies program.
Semester Programs
Tsinghua University ExchangeLocated in Beijing, China, the Tsinghua Exchange Program offers students the opportunity to spend a full semester or academic year at Tsinghua University. This program offers multi level courses in Chinese language. Students will pay tuition & fees, and room & board at North Georgia; switching places with a student from Tsinghua.
Deadline to apply for Spring Semester is October 1st and deadline for Full Academic Year is April 1st.
Sogang University Exchange
Located in Seoul, South Korea, the Sogang Exchange Program offers students the possibility to study for a semester or for the full academic year. For this program, Korean language proficiency is not needed and many students go with no prior knowledge of Korean. There are a wide variety of majors to choose from and many courses are taught in English. This is a tuition exchange program where tuition is paid at North Georgia. Participants have the option of living in fully furnished dorms, or with a Korean host family.
Deadline application for Spring Semester is December 1st and for Full Academic Year is June 1st.
ISEP Exchange Programs
ISEP offers study abroad programs at 295 colleges in 39 different countries and allows students to switch places with an international student at another ISEP school. ISEP students will pay tuition & fees, and room & board at NGCSU, making studying abroad a very affordable option! There are many program options which offer English-only courses.
Deadline for application for the Fall/Academic Year is January 1st and for Spring Semester is September 1st.
Granada Institute of International Studies (GRIIS)
Granada, Spain
The Granada Institute of International Studies (GRIIS) is a private education institution legally established in Spain devoted to the organization and administration of undergraduate and graduate Study abroad programs in the areas of Spanish Language and Culture, as well as International and professional Studies, with an emphasis in Graduate Studies of Translation and Interpretation.This program is specified as Direct Enrollment.
