Private Scholarships

Students find private scholarships in a variety of places. Here are a few suggestions:

-Ask your high school counselor about local organizations that have awarded scholarships to students in your high school in the past.

-Check with parents and friends of parents to learn more about corporate scholarships that may be available.

-Seek out organizations in the academic area of your interest to see what they might offer.

-Apply early.

-Organize all your information in one place so you can easily apply for multiple scholarships.

The National Association of Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) has some great informtion at their web site for parents and students regarding scholarships and other loans.
