Complete the Loan  Process

All students requesting Federal Stafford loans are required to sign a  Master Promissory Note (MPN) and complete entrance counseling with the Direct Loan Program at www.studentloans.gov  Your Master Promissory Note (MPN) is good for 10 years.    You will need the pin you used when you e-signed your FAFSA.

1) "Sign-in" to www.studentloans.gov  under the "Manage My Direct Loan" section.

2) Sign a Master Promissory Note

3) Complete Entrance Counseling

Note for Transfer Students:  If you previously had a student loan through a lender (FFELP), you may need to sign a new Master Promissory Note since all students loans are now issued directly through the Department of Education.  If you are not sure whether you need to sign a new MPN, complete the process above.  You will be notified during the process if you do not need to complete a new MPN.

If you do not remember your PIN, you can get help at www.pin.ed.gov .
