Important dates & deadlines for financial aid applications   

Date

   For the Fall 2011 - Summer 2012 school year:
October 10, 2011
Last day to withdraw with a W by 5PM

November 1, 2011
Priority deadline to submit all financial aid paperwork for Spring 2012 financial aid to be available when classes begin.
November 7, 2011 Registration for Spring 2012 begins
December 2, 2011 Spring 2012 Bills due for pre-registered students.  Late fee of $6 per credit hour assessed for any outstanding balance at the close of business (5:00 PM) on December 2, 2011.
January 5, 2012 Bill due date for students who registered at spring INTRO November 30, 2011.
January 5, 2012 Classes will be dropped at the close of business (5:00 PM ) January 5, 2012 for any student with an outstanding balance.
January 6, 2012 Registration.

January 9, 2012

Spring classes begin.
January 9, 2012 Bill due by 5PM.  Classes will be dropped at 5:00 PM for any student with an outstanding balance.
January 9 - 13, 2012 Drop/Add.
January 13, 2012 Bill due by 5PM for students making changes during drop/add.  Late fee of $6 per credit hour will be assessed at the close of business on January 13, 2012.

February 12, 2012 (Sunday)

College Goal Georgia - an event to help you complete the 2012-2013 FAFSA will be held in the Library Technology Center from 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM.  Bring tax returns and W-2's.
February 23, 2012 Any student with an outstanding spring semester invoice will be withdrawn from school.

 

March 17, 2012

Submit the 2012-2013 FAFSA-Free Application for Federal Student Aid for Priority Consideration and timely processing for Fall 2012 funding. Completed applications received after May 1st may not be processed in time for Fall 2012 bill payment. Don't delay!

We recommend you begin the financial aid application process in early February each year. You can submit most application forms electronically or by mailing a paper copy. Be sure to complete all required forms, in either format, several weeks before the Priority deadline.
April 1, 2012 Pell Grant eligible students need to complete the 2011-2012 FAFSA if it is to be taken into consideration in determining Pell summer 2012 award.
April 6, 2012 Summer Financial Aid Request forms due to the financial aid office for priority consideration for financial aid to be awarded by the summer bill due date.  This requirement is for current returning students only.  New students should not complete the Summer Financial Aid Request form.
May 1, 2012 Priority deadline for Fall 2012 financial aid to be available when classes begin and to meet the pre-payment deadline in mid-August. Late financial aid applicants MUST be prepared to pay the bill to avoid schedule cancellation of pre-registered classes. Note: This is not a final mailing date....this is "everything must be complete, correct, and finished with federal processing" date.
