North Georgia's Residence Policy
The
Corps of Cadets is a residential leadership experience which requires
all Cadets to live in a student-led military environment. Therefore,
students in the Corps of Cadets must be enrolled full time and live on
campus in designated residence halls. Cadets may live off-campus if
they reside at the permanent legal residence of parent(s) or
grandparent(s) within Dawson, Hall, Lumpkin, or White counties; are
married; are 23 years of age or older; or have completed two years of
successful active military service.
Cadets who have
earned 90 semester hours may elect to leave the Corps to become
civilian students. Those who leave the Corps prior to earning 90
semester hours will be ineligible to enroll in North Georgia courses
for a period of one calendar year from the date of their withdrawal
from the Corps.
Prospective Cadets should submit requests for waivers to this policy to the Director of Cadet Admissions.
Failure
to comply with this policy may result in dismissal from the university.
Failure to comply is defined as an act of providing misleading or false
information during the admissions process or when applying for a
waiver; or not moving into or maintaining residence in university
housing when available.

Student email:
Upon
admission to North Georgia College & State University, each student
is provided with a student e-mail account. Student e-mail is the
official channel of comunication between the University and its
students. It is responsibility of the student to periodically monitor
his/her student e-mail account and be aware of the information sent by
the University. Lack of knowledge that results from failure to monitor
University e-mail communications will not excuse students from
complying with University policies, procedures and/or deadlines and
will not be considered grounds for appeal for relief from those
policies, procedures and deadlines.

"While
at NGCSU I learned how to become a successful leader by learning
my job and the job of those above me. I developed and matured
at a rapid rate because of what was demanded of me. At 19
it was my job to take care of my squad on an academic level
as well as personal level, at all hours. As the rank got higher
so did the number of responsibilities that I had to balance.
I learned time management, and how to prioritize my schedule.
A key part of my development as a leader was the stressful
situations that I had to adapt to and overcome in order to
accomplish the task at hand. It was during those times that
I was tested and succeeded that I developed the confidence
to know, no matter what the mission, I will be able to succeed.
I owe a great deal to the cadets, NCO's, Officers, and teachers
that had keys roles in teaching, coaching, and mentoring me
into the leader that I am today."
- 2LT Jonathan Robinson, Platoon Leader, A CO,
1-27 Infantry, 25th Infantry Division. (Corps of Cadets Brigade
Commander 2003-2004) |
