Fifth Annual GOLD Conference
9:00 - 1:15, April 11, 2012
Lower Level Newton Oakes Center
Overview
The GOLD (Great Opportunities for
Leadership Development) Conference is organized by the Leadership in Business
class. The conference will be held on April 11th and will include
interactive presentations from business leaders who will share their experiences
and tips for success in the business world. There is no cost to attend the conference; however, registration is
required and professional business attire is expected. Breakfast will be provided, and the first 75 to register will receive a free lunch. One lucky attendee will win a Kindle Fire. Students from any major may register and attend.
Students
will learn from experts who are dynamic leaders, speakers, coaches, entrepreneurs,
CEOs, and more. The conference will start with a welcome and overview followed by a Keynote Session, breakout sessions, a panel session, and ending with lunch.
Some of the topics that will be covered
include business ethics, international business (particularly doing business in
China), and business networking sources, such as LinkedIn. Business leaders will present
sessions that complement the classroom academic learning with "real
world" expectations. A panel will take place with the business leaders, so
that they may share their perspectives on what sets a job candidate apart from
the other applicants and allow students to pose questions.
Business classes scheduled between 8:00 and 1:15 on Mondays will not meet on April 11; but other classes at the University are scheduled to meet as normal.
Registration Information
