International Students
An international student is someone who has not been granted or does not have US citizenship or permanent US residency. In order for these students to study in the US, they must obtain an F-1 or J-1 visa. Students seeking an F-1 or J-1 visa must complete the items below for Undergraduate Admissions to North Georgia.
Any student who wishes to be an international student at North Georgia must submit the following:
| 1. | Online application or paper application. | |
| 2. | $30 non-refundable application fee must be submitted with the application. | |
| 3. | Official transcripts from every college/university attended (these must come directly from the institution, personal copies and photocopies will NOT be accepted). All official international transcripts must have a foreign course-by-course credential evaluation by an independent evaluation service that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES) in order for the courses to be considered for college credit. The evaluation must be sent directly from the agency to the appropriate Admissions office (for new students) or to the Registrar’s office (for all other students). |

| 4. | Official high school transcripts or, in some countries, Certificate of Education. All official international transcripts must have a foreign course-by-course credential evaluation by an independent evaluation service that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES). The evaluation must be sent directly from the agency to the appropriate Admissions office (for new students). |

| 5. | English proficiency is proven through TOEFL scores, IELTS academic scores, SAT/ACT (completed in the English language) scores, or satisfactory completion of English 1101 at an accredited U.S. college or university. Please review linked list of English proficiency requirements. |

| 6. | If attending on F-1 or J-1 visa, official bank statements of financial sponsor proving sponsorship of $29,000 USD ($30,000 USD for Cadets). These must come directly from the bank or financial institution and in their sealed envelopes. Personal copies and photocopies will NOT be accepted. If written in a language other than English, an English translation must accompany the document. |

| 7. | If attending on F-1 or J-1 visa, a completed Financial Affidavit showing financial support of at least $29,000 USD ($30,000 USD for Cadets) for the first year. | |
| 8. | North Georgia Certificate of Immunization, showing proof of immunization as required by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia | |
| 9. | If transferring an existing I-20 from another college in the United States, a copy of the first two pages of your I-20, I-94 arrival departure record, essential pages of your passport, and your current visa stamp. | |

Please note that North Georgia requires all enrolled international students on an F-1 or J-1 visa to carry medical insurance through Pearce & Pearce, Inc.
