Undergraduate Admissions

Get Started Today...

An international student is someone who has not been granted or does not have US citizenship or permanent US residency. In order for these students to study in the US, they must obtain an F-1 or J-1 visa. Students seeking an F-1 or J-1 visa must complete the International Student Packet which includes the International Application for Undergraduate Admissions to North Georgia.

At North Georgia, we do not commission agents.  Students can work directly with our Admissions Office.  This allows us the opportunity to get to know the students who are applying and to assist them directly.  We do not give preference to students who work with agents.  Please contact us directly with any questions you may have regarding admissions.  You may reach Jennifer Chadwick, the Director of Admissions, at jchadwick@northgeorgia.edu

Any student who wishes to be an international student at North Georgia must submit the following:

1. International Application Packet if seeking F-1 or J-1 visa   (others submit online application)
2. $30 non-refundable application fee
3.

Official transcripts from every college/university attended (these must come directly from the institution, personal copies and photocopies will NOT be accepted). All official international transcripts must have a foreign course-by-course credential evaluation by an independent evaluation service that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES) in order for the courses to be considered for college credit. The evaluation must be sent directly from the agency to the appropriate Admissions office (for new students) or to the Registrar’s office (for all other students).

  • A full list of NACES members are listed online at http://www.naces.org/members.htm
  • Education Majors: For your information, the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) does not recognize evaluations from World Education Services (WES).  For more details on agencies accepted by the PSC, review the PSC web site at www.gapsc.com.
4. Official high school transcripts or, in some countries, Certificate of Education.  All official international transcripts must have a foreign course-by-course credential evaluation by an independent evaluation service that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES). The evaluation must be sent directly from the agency to the appropriate Admissions office (for new students).
5. English proficiency is proven through TOEFL scores, IELTS scores, SAT/ACT scores, or satisfactory completion of English 1101 at an accredited U.S. college or university. Please review linked list of English proficiency requirements.
  • TOEFL scores or IELTS scores if the student's native language is not English (these must come directly from the testing agency, personal copies and photocopies will NOT be accepted). Please note that TOEFL and IELTS scores are only valid for two calendar years from the test date. SAT or ACT scores will also be accepted if the test is done in the English language. Please note that students graduating from a high school in the U.S. must take the SAT or ACT rather than TOEFL or IELTS.
  • SAT or ACT scores if the student's native language is English (these must come directly from the testing agency, personal copies and photocopies will NOT be accepted). TOEFL and IELTS scores will not be accepted for students whose native language is English.
6.
